Summer 2019 is fast approaching which means it's almost time to get your toes out!
As always sandals were HUGE in the Spring Summer '19 shows with a whole range of open-toe options on offer for us to get excited about. The big trends were embellished slides, sporty flatforms, and sky-high wedge sandals in earth and metallic tones. Plus, lots of beautiful of espadrille sandals (of course)!
So if you want to make a splash when you hit the beach, then take a look at our round up of the Summer's hottest sandal styles...
Stylish Slides
A look that not everyone has been able to embrace, these slip on sandal styles refuse to go away and are here to stay for SS19. Comfortable, casual and beach ready - slides were seen pared down on the catwalk in earth tones and rustic fabrics (like at Oscar de La Renta ), or cranked up to the max with feathers like at Valentino's show. We also saw glitter, sequins and embellishments galore!
For our Arenys women's espadrille sandal, we decided to go for a more natural look! Feminine yet perfectly on trend - these neutral mules are simple yet cute and can be dressed up or down depending on how you want to style them.
We love these combined with a floaty maxi dress for a boho beach look!
Flatform Sandals
So what is a flatform exactly? It's a platform but with a thick sole and no heel -and these comfy yet cool slip-on sandals were also all over the catwalk. But this year, the flatform sandal has taken on a sporty feel; so think big chunky soles in rubber with buckles or straps as seen in the collections of superstar designers such as Michael Kors and Philip Lim.
Following the trend for sporty styles in this Spring/Summer season, take a look at Viscata's very own Galera sling back espadrille sandal. One of our favourite lower styles, it features an on-trend buckle and a 1.5 inch flat heel, to keep your feet feeling sweet for hours.
Throw them on with your favorite pair of distressed jeans and that's your outfit done...
Wedge Sandals
The Saint Laurent Tribute espadrille sandal wedge had everyone talking at the shows and this vertiginous beauty (it weighs in at a lofty 5 inches high) has been sold out almost everywhere since the style was launched into boutiques back in March.
So, the trend this summer seems to be height and the taller the better! And who couldn't use a little bit of help with that from time to time? The catwalk models at the Prada show also donned towering raffia wedge espadrille sandals, which are as just beautiful!
Meanwhile back at Viscata, our brand new super wedge the Tavellera has just landed from Spain - and while it might be a show-stopping 3 inches high, you'll feel like you are walking on air thanks to the hand-stitched soles and super chic laces that fit perfectly around your ankles.
Your feet really will thank you for buying them...
